Hailing from Richmond, VA, The Southern Belles play American, Rock & Roll, bridging the gaps between funk, psychedelic rock, country, and soul.

Since their formation in 2010, The Southern Belles have continued to grow exponentially. In 2012, the band released their critically acclaimed debut album “Sharp as a Knife”. The Belles play regular monthly shows across the state of Virginia, in Charlottesville and their hometown of Richmond, and have a touring schedule that takes them from Vermont to Colorado and all points in between.

The band consists of Adrian Ciucci (guitar/vocals), Tommy Booker (keys/vocals), Raphael Katchinoff (drums/vocals), and Andrew Carper (bass/vocals). The Southern Belles have also played a seemingly countless number of music festivals in our area. The Southern Belles have shared the stage with the likes of The Congress, Anders Osborne, Moon Taxi, Keller Williams, Toubab Krewe, Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, Zach Deputy, and more. Consisting of three members, The Last Revel uses traditional folk-minded three part harmonies with honest and meaningful lyrics to deliver a passionate and soul stirring performance. On a backbone of rebellious rock attitude and raw traditional instrumentation, band members pride themselves on an unrelenting work ethic and a deep hunger to write, perform, and entertain.

The Last Revel is known for crafting a rowdy live performance that inspires crowds to move to every tune. The Last Revel honed their style at a weekly open mic night at a dive bar in Southern Minnesota. Their performance spread by word of mouth until the bar was at maximum capacity every Thursday. When the dance floor was full, folks danced on tables. The Last Revel strives for such wild performances at every show. The Last Revel received great response from press and fans alike from their first official recording entitled, “The Mason Jar EP” in February of 2013.

With their debut full-length release entitled “UPROOTED” in February of 2014, The Last Revel’s momentum continues to grow and The Band is poised to take their sound to anywhere that welcomes their own brand of lyric driven, foot moving, folk music.

AfroZep is a band that plays high-energy afro-beat and afro-pop versions of Led Zeppelin songs, complete with horns and percussion.  Wilson, Marshall and Ryan conceptualized the idea in the Summer of 2009. Less than 6 months later they were touring the Midwest performing in St. Louis, Iowa City, Kansas City, Madison and Rock Island.  Their first hometown performance was a few months later at the Bottom Lounge and a few months after that AfroZep was being recognized by critics from the Chicago Reader and were voted Best Led Zeppelin Cover Band.  The band hit the studio shortly after that and quickly gained the attention of Richard Milne at WXRT where they were listed as ‘Our Led Zeppelin Cover Band of Choice’.  Less than two years later AfroZep has headlined clubs such as the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Quixoes in Denver and Lincoln Hall in Chicago; performed at Universities, festivals and private parties and opened for national and international touring acts such as Cornmeal and Tinariwen.

Johnny Campbell is a third generation fiddler hailing from Nashville, Tennessee. He grew up listening to Bluegrass greats Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin, Jim & Jesse & the Virginia Boys, and the Stanley Brothers. Johnny’s long-bow fiddling style is modeled after the late, great Kenny Baker, as well as his brother Jimmy Campbell, who played extensively with both Jim & Jesse and Bill Monroe. To Johnny, Bluegrass is not just a genre of music, but a lifestyle. Sticking strictly to the roots of first generation bluegrass musicians, Johnny brings enthusiasm and charisma to an oft mislabeled musical category. Johnny has won several fiddle competitions over the years, including Uncle Dave Macon Days, LaGrange Fiddle Competition, and Yeehaw Junction. He is a founding member of the Volunteer String Band (a Nashville Jamgrass band), has toured with James Monroe and helped San Francisco based band Windy Hill win several band competitions, including Emerging Artist in The California Bluegrass Association, First Place at Yonder Mountain String Band’s String Summit and Second Place at Rocky Grass. He currently plays with Chris Henry & The Hardcore Grass and David Davis & The Warrior River Boys. After 35 years as a sideman Johnny is now up front. In the oft’ heard words of Johnny himself, “Let’s Pick!” Johnny started the Bluegrass Drifters in Santa Cruz, California with his wife Whitney. The band has gone through some changes since moving back to Nashville and Johnny’s really excited about the current line-up.
