Gravy has successfully “created their own very original sound with their latest album Get Busy Living – a bit of neo-soul mixed with some indie rock smothered in a whole bunch of New Orleans funk” according to producer of Gravy’s latest album and founding member of Galactic, Robert Mercurio. Inspired by a cultural renaissance and newfound clarity of vision; Gravy preaches the gospel of New Orleans funk while maintaining a creative voice steeped in the time-honored traditions of The Crescent City. Quickly making a name for themselves by paying homage to influences as varied and vast as the city they call home, the four members of Gravy came together as a band of experienced and working musicians hailing from different parts of the country with an unquenchable thirst to make it in the Big Easy.

The ability to express a mastery of style across-the-board is quite possibly the most alluring quality of Gravy. They took their unique blend of influences and artfully crafted an infectious style capable of blending genres and (in a word)”redefining” what is possible for the band, according to co-producer and fellow Galactic member, Ben Ellman.

On the heels of their most formative album to date, Gravy takes the helm on Get Busy Living and navigates within their respective terrain in innovative and exciting ways that make a bold statement about the future of this band. This latest album, now road tested with an added element of spontaneity encouraged by the live setting, has become an artistic achievement that serves as a testament to their hard-work, dedication, and unwavering devotion to their craft. Gravy has elevated their creative vision above the contemporary quagmire and gained a musical perspective that is inspired by ingenuity and fueled by a passionate presentation of their eclectic influences. Excited to pursue a fresh set of tour dates and festival spots, Gravy is on a mission to bring their message to music fans hungry for something that challenges, inspires, and satisfies the soul.

Born to groove, Cold River City is the love child of funky soul and dirty blues. Fronted by Emma Fields and Brian Hubbert, the six piece live band features seductive vocal harmonies, screaming slide guitar, and a tight rhythm section guaranteed to make you get down with your bad self. The band draws their sound from a variety of genres, creating a fun and danceable style they call Psychedelic Groove Soul.

The band’s versatile sound has given them the opportunity to share the stage with a diverse list of acts that include The Revivalists, Matisyahu and Elephant Revival and have played an impressive list of Colorado venues including the Fox Theatre, Boulder Theater, Ogden Theater, Bluebird Theater, Cervantes Masterpiece and The Belly Up Aspen.

Having traveled coast to coast and played shows in twenty-five states, Cold River City is no stranger to road life. However, the band has also taken time to hit the studio and try to capture the magic that happens live.

“Thank You. Sorry. Love You.” is the most recent release from Cold River City. The EP “features five songs that offer all the dance-inducing and soul-yearning sounds that fans have come to admire. Highlights include the catchy chorus of the opening track, ‘Burn the Money,’ and the sprinting lust song ‘Could It Be’. Throughout is singer Emma Fields’ unmistakable pixie-timbred soul delivery. Fields’ voice is like a Deringer — dollish but dangerous” (Second Story Garage).

Through the coming months you can find Cold River City rocking out around the Front Range and through the mountains of Colorado as they continue to push the boundaries of rock n roll. Through the rest of 2016 the band will be returning to some of their favorite spots nationwide to keep the groove alive and get people moving.

“It’s a tribute to his growth as a musician that this much firepower could appear on an album that stays resolutely in service to the song.” — John Swenson, Offbeat Editor-at-Large

When New Orleans guitarist Billy Iuso changed his musical course on 2013’s “Naked,” his newly sharpened focus on singing and lyric writing received critical acclaim — and plenty of love from his national fan base. Now front and center in a way they’ve never been before, Billy’s earthy vocal tone and the disarmingly raw sentiments embedded in his lyrics lend a richer dynamic to the muscular fretwork that’s always powered his performance. Combined with shifting blues-rock textures, echoes of psychedelia and soulful New Orleans funk rhythms, the results paved the way for a reinvigorated, more song-centric direction in Billy’s artistic output.

In 2014, he took those concepts a step further, returning to the studio to record “Overstanding” with an all-star cast of special guests including George Porter and Art Neville.  Citing Porter and Neville as well as Bob Marley, Paul Weller, Steve Winwood and Traffic among his many muses, Billy explains that as he matures, inspiration comes from a mix of words, sounds and musicians.  “I’m writing more songs as I get older,” he says. “Sometimes a new song comes from a story, sometimes from a guitar riff – each one has its own life.”

A New York native who formed the funky, psychedelic guitar-fronted Brides of Jesus in the early ‘90s, Billy quickly developed a strong following on the Wetlands scene alongside Warren Haynes, Blues Traveler and the Spin Doctors. As the Brides’ popularity continued to soar, they shared bills with Widespread Panic and the Dave Matthews Band. While touring and collaborating with a host of key members of the jam band community, Billy explored the roots of the bands that influenced him most – including Little Feat, whose music turned him on to the Meters. Eventually, he opened for the Funky Meters at shows across the country. It wasn’t long before George Porter and Art Neville were encouraging him to relocate to New Orleans permanently, which he did in 1996.

Billy quickly established himself on the live music scenes, forming the Restless Natives in 2002 and performed regularly with the Wild Magnolias, Anders Osborne and as an original member of Dead Feat alongside Grateful Dead alum Bill Kreutzmann and Little Feat’s Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett.

Today, the Restless Natives remain a local music scene staple, along with Billy’s acoustic performances he also frequently can be found on the guitar with old friends like Porter and Neville amongst many others.

“Grant Sabin is unquestionably one of the hardest working musicians around, playing with abandon at large and small venues throughout Colorado and beyond. As a solo artist Grant has captivated audiences for years with his raw voice, intense stage presence, and one-man band approach to creating music with slide guitar, harmonica, and stomp box. As a band leader, Grant turns the volume up to 11. The Grant Sabin Band includes, Alex Koshak (Flumps, Sugar Sounds, Briffaut) on Drums, and Sam Erickson (We Are Not A Glum Lot, Briffaut) on 2nd Guitar. Grant Sabin’s Musical delivery comes from the heart and has earned him the respect of fans and fellow musicians alike.”

“Grant Sabin is a unique, talented blues prodigy–steeped in traditional blueswell beyond his years. The multi-instrumentalist’s babyface contradicts both his gruff voice and his repertoire, which includes not only his own modern work, but tributes to Son House and Jimi Hendrix as well. Sabin’s musical delivery serves as a strong reminder that playing from the heart is clearly an innate process for some folks. With an eclectic approach to the blues/folk/rock spectrum that is honest and convincing, Grant is one of those rare souls who “just has it.””

It’s a boot stomp on a dusty bar floor. It’s the clang of a whiskey bottle at last call. It’s grit. It’s the sounds of the South. It’s Cranford Hollow, a blended mix of Southern Rock, Appalachian Fiddle Music and American Rock and Roll.

The Hilton Head Island quintet, comprised of vocalist and guitarist John Cranford, bass man Phillip Sirmans, drummer Randy Rockalotta, fiddler and vocalist Eric Reid, and guitarist Yannie Reynecke have won over thousands of loyal fans with what they call Lowcountry Stomp, a sound that is at once eclectic but uniquely their own. Elements of Blues, Old-Time Country, and Southern Psychedelic Rock come together with ancient mountain melodies in an energetic, engaging musical root bag sprinkled with some Sea Island hoodoo. Since 2011 Cranford Hollow has been playing upwards of 200 shows a year, steadily expanding from the South Carolina Lowcountry to places as far afield as Eau Claire, WI, Livingston, MT and Taos, NM and has played well over 100 shows in Colorado alone.

“St. Telluride”, Cranford Hollow’s fourth studio album, was released on August 18, 2015 and the band is preparing its forthcoming album “Color/Sound/Renew/Revive” for late summer release.

““Cranford Hollow is the epitome of the working band… a blaze of scratchy vocals and fiddle-drenched melodies.”. – Josh Peacock, DO Savannah

Leaving a trail of burned up bars and sweat soaked guitars since 2009, the Dyrty Byrds have shown no mercy in their pursuit of original guitar driven rock and roll. Tori Pater, Eric Martinez, Mike “Spanky” McCluer, and Andrew Clapp are a four-piece rock band from Denver, CO that would fit as easily into the 1970’s classic/southern rock scene as they do in modern day American music.

Playing on their love of songwriting and rock & roll, Tori Pater (Polytoxic) and Eric Martinez (Bloodkin) have been playing music together since 2004 and have eased into a prolific songwriting partnership which is deeply solidified on the new Dyrty Byrds release Failure is Feedback, due out Feb. 2016. The vast majority of the new songs were born and flushed out in Tori’s basement with just he and Eric and a couple of acoustic guitars.

Seeing a few different formations after their 2009 debut, Dyrty Byrds have worn the tried and true rock & roll recipe of two guitars, bass, and drums as a badge of honor for the better part of their existence. Mike “Spanky” McCluer (Larry) and Andrew Clapp (Forever In Blue Jeans) on Bass and drums (respectively) bring a “freight train through the Rockies” type sound to the band that only Spanky and Andy can produce.

Failure Is Feedback is the Dyrty Byrds’ third release and second album done with Chad “Chadzilla” Johnson at Silent Scream Studios in Denver, CO. Failure touches on outlaw country, a little punk rock, and funk with steady doses of rock & roll through out the record. It takes you to a place where guitars rule, truth is paramount, and the bar is always open.
